Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression is a very effective therapy at managing and reducing disc bulges and spinal pain.

Spinal decompression is an advanced, safe and drug free procedure that may help you find relief from low back or neck pain. Throughout our daily activities of sitting, repetitively lifting, carrying grocery bags, bending, twisting, moving furniture, running etc., our spine has pressure put on it. This pressure builds up over time and can injure a disc or lead to degenerative changes of the spine. The gel-like substance of the disc loses its hydration and/or can be pushed through a tear, leading to a disc bulge. This bulge can then compress one of the nerves exiting the spine leading to numbness in tingling, either in the legs or hands. The nerve has essentially become pinched. Once your nerve becomes pinched, it becomes swollen, which creates even less space for the nerve, and causes more compression and pain. Damaged discs are difficult to treat, as they are under constant pressure while we are moving around, and even when we are at rest.

Spinal decompression is an effective way to unload the spine, thereby taking pressure off of a nerve, and re-hydrating the disc. This gentle pull creates a “negative pressure”, which helps with sciatica, disc bulges, degenerative arthritic changes, re-hydration of nutrients into the disc and ultimately reducing pain.
